Moz, an SEO software provider, was acquired by email marketing company iContact. The combined technologies will form an SEO, email and digital marketing solutions suite for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs).
This acquisition comes at a time where massive growth is predicted for SEO technology throughout 2028, with 40% of marketers who adopted and/or optimized a cross-functional SEO process saw a significant conversion rate improvement in 2020 alone.
IContact will use its resources to help Moz accelerate its plans to build and improve SEO functions and other digital marketing products. Moz plans to continue fostering a community of marketers, developers and data scientists who are seeking knowledge about SEO tactics and strategies, inbound marketing and content marketing.
“Since the beginning, Moz has elevated SEO as a critical strategy for growth and brand recognition,” said Sarah Bird, CEO of Moz, in a statement. “With this news, our mission remains the same. Moz should only innovate faster and more effectively for our customers. The shared focus on delivering powerful digital marketing solutions is a perfect fit for our brand, staff and community. We are excited to begin collaborating on new solutions for our collective customers.”
